Man known for poor judgment displays poor judgment

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, long known for his poor judgment, shocked the world on Monday when it was revealed that he showed poor judgment by texting classified war plans in an unsecured group chat with a reporter from The Atlantic.

“I was shocked when I heard Pete was the source of the Pentagon leaks,” said Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. “Even the most routine background check shows Pete regularly makes poor decisions, but this time we really thought his poor judgment was limited to excessive emoji use.”

Before being appointed Secretary of Defense, Hegseth demonstrated a clear commitment to poor judgment by making the wrong choice 97% to 99% of the time. For example, Hegseth cheated on multiple wives, including one who demonstrated equally poor judgment by having his child.

Hegseth also paid off a sexual assault accuser with whom he admitted to having intercourse while married to another woman, and was accused by his own mother of mistreating women. He was also removed from the board of not one but two non-profits for drunken behavior, motorboating female coworkers, using the office copier for photocopying his butt, and almost killing a guy with an axe.

“Pete is a legend,” a senior defense official said. “If you give him a drink, he will ask for five more. If you show him a stripper pole, you will see just how high he can climb.”

When asked whether it was true that Hegseth had inadvertently leaked war plans, Hegseth yelled, “Answer D,” and moonwalked away from reporters.

“We are proud of Pete,” said Vice President JD Vance. “He is a man of conviction. Not everyone can do the wrong thing every time, but that is why President Trump picked him to run the world’s largest military. We cannot wait to see what he will do next.”

Hegseth stood by his decision to leak war plans on a Russian-monitored chat.

“This is my job,” Hegseth said. “To put our enemies on notice: I’m doing my damn best every day to use the superior poor decision making skills the good Lord blessed me with to lead our warfighters into unnecessary peril.”
